REJSELINJE INDIEN

Program Description:
Jaipur is known on the international tourism map as one vertex of the Golden Triangle of Indian tourism. Many scripts and poems have been written on the beauty of Jaipur city by domestic tourists, as well as foreign tourists. Countless documentary movies have been made on Jaipur in the last 250 years.

Jaipur was founded on 18th November 1727, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, a Kachawaha Rajput, who ruled from 1699-1744 AD. Jaipur architecture is famous worldwide because of its technical details and beauty and is based on Indian Vastu concepts. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, was a great architect and astronomer, with a good knowledge of Indian Vastu. The ever-increasing population and growing scarcity of water pushed him to set up a well planned city. This is the reason that the architecture of Jaipur is a wonderful case study for the modern architects of the world.

The program is to let the participants learn and understand the prevailing issues of the urban poor, especially the environmental issues faced by the slum children and the community. The participants will prepare a Waste Management, as well as a Health and Hygiene model with experts’ input, adding global experience and will educate and bring awareness to the children and the community. The participants will also have cultural visits to different sites, and will learn about the local culture.

Program Highlights – community services in Jaipur:

  • Teach basic English in schools; introduce creative learning through art, music, games etc to schoolchildren

  • Awareness rally on the environment with the community

  • Renovation activities at schools

  • Educational painting

  • Tree plantation in public places

  • Promote Health and Hygiene awareness to schoolchildren and the slum community
